What is booklit?

booklit is a book review blog started with fervour back in 2007 and somehow still taking up room on the internet. It focuses on contemporary literature, classics, world literature, prize-listed titles, and occasional dips into non-fiction. However, as a reader can never rule out reading other things, expect a little bit of whatever too.

Who writes it?

All reviews are written by Stewart, based in Glasgow, Scotland in those grasped moments precariously balanced between work and life. In addition to books other interests include cooking (it’s not just another excuse to buy books, honest!), movies (that don’t involve superheroes), and gardening (when the local weather allows).

Can I send you a book?

Maybe. This site is a mostly journal of my own reading, but if you have something that I may be interested in, (as per the interests above), and think I’d like to hear about it, then by all means drop me a message using the contact form below.

However, I’m not looking to read self-published work, celebrity memoirs, young adult fiction – that sort of thing. Perhaps have a sift through my Review Index to get a flavour for the blog’s content. Alternatively – although it definitely needs updating – my GoodReads is a decent indicator of how my shelves look.

This is predominately a book review site. There are no blog tours, guest bloggers, interviews, or promotional posts. Please don’t email me about them. I also have no interest in reading electronic books.
